Today, Thursday, August 23rd, is a beautiful day. The birds are singing, the squirrels are active, and dogs are barking in the distance. I was up at six o’clock am this morning and actually became aware of my surroundings around eight o’clock am. Since then I’ve taken a shower, watered the outside plants (because we’ve had no measurable rain this summer), done some laundry, eaten breakfast, and had two cups of coffee. What’s missing from this list? Well, writing of course. I’ve read some blogs, responded to a few, and realized the day is slipping away. What better way to jump-start the old writing noodle than to jot down a quick blog post? In answer to my question, there is none.
My first action when I finish this post will be to write, at least, 1000 words. Then I’ll jump over to my rewrite project, my first novel A Good Place to Die. Once I finish two chapters of rewriting I’ll kick back and make an effort to put a dent in the programs I’ve recorded on my DVR. So, if all goes well, I will have held true to my writing schedule for today. With a light heart I’m off to my writing happy place or, as others refer to it, the desk at the front window. Thanks for stopping by.
